WITH LOVE, ESCARGOT

-A film by Kesiah Manival

With Love, Escargot is a stop motion animation film created by Kesiah Manival. I've been working with her to create concept arts, 3D modeling and 3D printing replacement hands and faces for puppets, two different sizes of prop vehicles, prop miniatures and two huge scenic sets.

Please enjoy our works:

Concept Arts:

I was tasked to create the prop car for the film's protagonist Francis, the vehicle is an unknown make and model of a French compact car from the 1980s and I've created several versions of the vehicle:

Puppets:

I was tasked to create replacement hands and faces for the two puppets used in the film. Kesiah sculpted both puppet's faces as reference and I recreated them in Blender then 3D printed all of them with a SLA 3D printer. By far we haven't finish painting them yet.

Prop Cars:

Kesiah needs two different scales of the prop car for her film, a big studio scale one for shots with the puppet and a small 1/43 scale one for the bridge stunt scene. Both prop cars have functional steering as well as working lights. Modeled in Blender and 3D printed by AnT 3D printing, the smaller one is printed by myself. The chassis of these prop cars were not 3D printed and are fabricated by me to feature all the neccessary functions.

Prop Miniatures:

Various prop miniatures created for the film, all modeled, wired and finished by myself. A combination of 3D printing and epoxy putty sculpting were used.

Sets:

I've created three functional sliding windows for the two interior sets, a big bridge set for a big scene where the little car fall off the bridge; and a large road set for the big prop car driving through in the opening of the film. Set is modular and can be taken apart for transportation, made of foam and plaster bandages with wood support structures.
